Markel might be a liberal IDK or care, but I believe Harry is his mother's son and wants nothing to do with the cabal or what it stands for. I also believe his exit from royal duties was his escape plan. However, like all people, they have to earn a living. So there's a balance they must strike. If Markel had Cabal leaning tendencies, I believe her husband could have influenced her in a different direction.
