Never have understood this "polite" trait always being ascribed to Canadians. The ones I've know (to a person) in the US were insufferable asses. I don't dislike Canadians, just noticed that to be the case in my experience. I know plenty of American "asses" too, but I don't go around describing Americans as being unusually polite. Maybe more of you "nice" Canadians should travel more.
