I do feel like he did have a gapped distance from her in the beginning of the video. Allowing someone to openly move/hold things in their hands is a no-go. Allowing her to use the phone was a no-no. There is a major training issue occuring in our LEO of America. It is not universal or standardized across states or regions. They are not taught proper ROE, How to deal with mentally unstable individuals, deescalation. The WOT brought along an age of shoot and ask questions later, and the recruitment of those whom came back home from the sandbox without managing their problems first led to a major influx of militarized and aggressive warriors on the street with loosened restrictions. All of the rage that built up in their life can start being released on the individuals they encounter because the ROE is significantly more relaxed.
Pair that with the influx of crime being promoted in the media as a form of Social Justice and Liberation and you have a sweaty powder keg waiting for a warm breath to ignite into a meltdown of society.

We give people, even some who never served, 6 months worth of training, a badge, a gun and a car and wish them the best. Civilian I went to college with joined the state police, just a few days being solo he executed a high speed median crossing to go after someone and his patrol car was hit by a semi and he was DOI. It was an absolute tragic event that never should have occurred. Had he had more training, certification in that area, the incident likely would not have occurred.

Joined local sheriffs dept as deputy. Quickly began abusing power, pulling guns on minors, dragging children and women out of vehicles. His wife left him, He ran over her new guy, put a gun to her head threatened to bury her in the woods.
He personally flipped two of my ATVs off a trailer because he couldn't locate the VIN numbers on them and took me to jail for a DUI, I was sober as a judge.
Dude had issues before he came into the sheriffs dept, he should have never been allowed on the force, he was undertrained, under evaluated, and his interactions were never monitored.. He should have never been trusted to have been released out into the public without being vetted by the hiring dept.

Do you see the trend im going with? It isn't about who you are or where you came from. Anybody can be trained to do anything, but we sometimes allow people into positions they shouldnt be because we don't care how they perform, we just need numbers to be met..
