I'm the same with my first ex. He was a wonderful and sweet guy, he liked me very much, but I just didn't feel anything very deep for him in return, so to spare us both wasted time and wasted feelings I asked him if we could stop where we were and just go our separate ways. I still think of him as dear to me since he was my first boyfriend and he was so nice, but the feelings on my side just weren't there, so to forgo the pain I knew it was time to end it. I'll never hate him, there's not a thing about him that I hated, and I did like him but I didn't love him, so that was that.
I used to talk to folks from Portland on reddit, and they were all fully pro-rioters. Honestly, I like to know if they were real Portlanders or just bots. But they used to have profile histories full of Portland shit. If they were bots, they did an incredible job making them real.
Often there are good reasons to hate our exes. Often there aren't.
