My fellow Minnesotans/AMERICANS:
My name is [REDACTED], and I am DONE. I am done with the “Schiffshow” circus in Washington, that is supposed to represent WE THE PEOPLE. We have no party lines anymore. We have no trust. We have no FAITH. And we need to take this opportunity to refocus our views on REPRESENTATION. How WE THE PEOPLE represent our government, and how our government is supposed to represent WE THE PEOPLE.
Before I go on, many of you are probably wondering Who is [REDACTED]? You’ll dig that all up anyway, so I’ll give you the Quick version. I’m 28 years old, born and raised here in the great state of Minnesota, currently residing in [REDACTED]. I went to Catholic schools K-12. Dropped in and out of college before deciding that the narrative behind it wasn’t for me. I moved to Colorado for 5 years where I worked in the food service industry. Shout out to Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado 3rd Congressional District and restaurant owner, for inspiring me to share my beliefs with you today. Finally, I moved back to Minnesota on the 13th of March, 2020… The beginning of the pandemic. I work in Quality assurance at a [REDACTED]in [REDACTED].
Why should you trust me? I am going to challenge you all to reframe that word, trust. Reframe the word trust to align closer with the word FAITH. I’m not asking for you to trust me. History proves that hasn’t worked when asked by politicians. I am asking you to put your FAITH in me. I am asking you to have the FAITH to work WITH me, to best represent the community. To best represent WE THE PEOPLE.
Now that word FAITH may alarm some of you. But faith is fundamental. Fundamental to humanity, and fundamental to the CONSTITUTION. Faith extends far beyond different religions, races, cultures, and beliefs. Even if you aren’t religious, faith can be interpreted luck, coincidence, confidence, and hope. We need to BRING FAITH BACK to a conscious understanding that has the freedom to work and grow in our everyday lives.
What side am I on? As I said at the beginning, we have no party lines anymore. Our representation sucks. However, will make it very clear that I support the Constitution of the United States of America AS WRITTEN. I hope that clears things up for you, if not, I suggest you try reading it.
How can I make a difference/things better? By representing YOU. By working for YOU. My office walls extend to the CITY LIMITS, even beyond. My office hours are YOUR hours. My availability is YOUR availability. My time is YOUR time. The only job of any elected official is to best represent those who elected them. The only way to represent a community is to be a part of that community.
I know I am not alone in my frustrations. I know there are many others that feel the same as I do. Now is our time. We need to be that beacon of light moving forward. We need to step up and come together as local communities of like-minded people and bring forth those with the COURAGE and the VOICE to let the people be heard. And let them once again, communicate the needs of local communities via representation.
Those strong voices need to become the HEARTBEATS of their communities. Every community is living. Constantly changing. Its people, the blood flowing throughout its borders. That heartbeat needs to constantly be pumping the information that the blood provides. The needs of the people need to constantly be evaluated and represented by the HEART of the people, chosen by the people.
What is my goal? To MAKE REPRESENTATION LOCAL AGAIN. While general elections decide many major political races, many local candidates go unchallenged. Many state and county races often times go unchallenged. Think of it like health insurance, the better the policy, the better coverage that is more personalized to the individual. Same goes for elections. The more representation, or coverage, the more personalized it becomes to the community and individual. I look forward to working with you, and hope to see others step up and be heard as well. Together we can truly make the Great State of Minnesota GREAT, community by community. My name is [REDACTED], and I am running for whatever position YOU, the people, believe I can best represent. God Bless you all, God bless Minnesota, And God bless the United States of America. One Nation, Under God.
No offense but if you're in Minnesota, you might want to prepare this speech in Somalian as well.
Bahahahahahaha ??
Really no offense - I think you mean well, but that's a hell of an uphill battle there.
That’s a sign that it’s time.
I sincerely wish you the best! You must be tough as hell if you're even considering it so I really do hope you can make a difference there.
"I'm here to throat punch the corrupt".
You'd have my vote.
That’s quite literally asking me to sell out for your vote. ?. Even though I agree with it haha I’d rather be the example than just say the words
Or, to up the ante:
"Livestreaming DS executions at the next rally! Bring your popcorn and MAGA hat!"
Coming from Minnesota, I can honestly say that if you want to start in politics there it would be best to begin in a more rural area. If you were to choose to begin in the Twin Cities then choose a suburb such as Eden Prairie, Chaska to the South or Blaine or Anoka to the North. Unless you're a multi millionaire and skin of Teflon like Trump the local msm will devour you like a pack of jackals. Not saying it can't be done for a conservative Christian to win in Minneapolis but Every minutia of your life will be exposed Especially your online life! If you have Any past tweets or posts that could be used against you delete them Now. I wish you the best.
Similar stance to the tearing down of statues, I will NOT be deleting my social media history. It is a part of us. It’s our history. Its our faults. It’s our growth.
I’m thinking of running in my state as well..
Do it!
We have to be brave.
I am tired of being part of the good men and women who sit silently by while evil prevails..
Be David!!
Thank you ?? Excited for what’s ahead. Good luck to you!
"The saddest life is that of a political aspirant under democracy. His failure is ignominious and his success is disgraceful."
H. L. Mencken
I think it's a great start to a speech. I like that you're up-front and clear about your background. Now you just need to start addressing the specific issues you intend on fixing. I see a lot of key words like faith, courage, representation, and community, but I'd like to see how that applies to policy. I think the best part of this speech is the fact that you don't paint yourself as part of any certain group, but rather you seem to say that you're simply on the side of the community you represent. That alone could get your foot in the door.
Yes! Clarity will follow. Checking for traction ??
I think that if it came down to an election between you and someone else, they’d be positioning you as one of those QAnon conspiracy theorists. You should chat with some representative people from different neighborhoods and find out what is important to them.
I think you should reel in some of the things like “schiffshow”, and focus more on the things that are important to the people you want to represent. When I ran for office (I was a horrible candidate) I answered people with an answer to their question. I noticed the folks who got elected would never answer the question, but get the people they were talking to tell what their views were, and kind of sort of agree or nod heads. It was an art form actually, and a skill that is simply not in my wheelhouse. Depending on what your community is like, being too direct may not work.
Great advice. Thank you!
Excellent speech. Love it.
Hear! Hear! This is what needs to happen.
