His square magazine in question is a standard metal 30 round magazine. M4s are shorter though, you can get incredibly shorter if you're trying though.. Like, brace on a .50 DEAGLE. Sub-compacts in .45... The only reason I could see you needing a .223 or .556 underground would be super long distances. 150-200 meters or more.
they are quick rounds, personally id want something slower (round velocity) that packed a little more punch with a shorter draw, but to each their own.

This is true. It also is chambered very weirdly. Its not a .223 or .556 or even a .308. Look at how skinny the ejection port is, if that even is an ejection port.
