Good guy.
He had problems with tinnitus (ringing in the ears) for years. He supported charities that help wounded soldiers suffering from tinnitus.
He got Covid-19, which has been known to make symptoms of tinnitus (ringing in the ears) worse. Apparently, in his case, it was MUCH worse. Imagine not being able to sleep, can't eat, nausea and vomiting due to the constant extremely loud ringing in your ears, can't think straight... and nobody can do anything to help.
It must have gotten to that point, which it would for anyone.
I don't buy the story. I've got severe tinnitus - ears blown out in an IED attack and subjected to possible sonic weapons. The ringing so bad I can barely hear conversations sometime. 50% of tinnitus is psychological, not as in crazy, but as in how the brain works and interprets aural stimulus.
I've know a lot of people who had it worse than I did, but there are ways to mitigate it. I've never heard of anyone driven to the point of suicide over it.
Maybe I'm just cynical, but if I were a wealthy CEO, I'm pretty sure I'm not offing myself over crazy loud ringing.
I find it very suspicious myself. How do they know covid caused worsening symptoms. Is this a common side effect of covid? Does covid cause everything? It just seems weird.
His philanthropic background seems pretty clean.
