So I was at class today and my Calc teacher was talking about a nationwide siren test that would be happening at around 9:30 AM. Class was over and done by 10 and still no sirens. Then suddenly, as I was walking to my next class, I heard the sirens start up. It sounded like hundreds and hundreds of sirens going off at once from everywhere.
When they do the normal test every Friday, they do it at noon and only one is tested. There are four sirens in the city since it's fairly sprawling. But today is Wednesday and it happened at 10.
When I got back, my brother said that it was going all over the country, but I can't find articles or anything to back that up. Nothing here either.
Anyone else hear siren testing at an odd time? I am half-wondering if the storm is upon us.
It’s spring! Tornado season. They always have an awareness week the kids in schools practice sitting in the hallways.
I live in a tornado hot zone, and have not heard any sirens or tv alert tests today.
Send me some Goetta! It doesn’t exist in TN
oh, gosh that looks amazing! Any time I am up near Cincy, I buy a lot of Goetta and keep it in my freezer. always plan on rationing it out, but I always just blow right through it. I can get Skyline seasoning, and make my own skyline, i can get montgomery inn BBQ sauce, and i can get Greaters Ice Cream down here, but nowhere can I get goetta
I just heard 2 or 3 go off in Michigan and was told it was the testing of the tornado sirens. My friend turned on her tv set and there was a message that it was a test.
Nothing weird going on in Chicagoland so far.
I'm on Titan...we got sirens here
where was this happening?
Mount Vernon, Ohio
Apparently also in Columbus, too. So it's not just localized.
No sirens on Long Island, NY. Just the occasional high tide warning siren if weather is bad.
You know i wouldnt have thought anything of it, being this time of the year. But both local schools and both local cities test their tornado sirens today.
For quite a lengthy amount of time.
Not unusual for this time of the year i suppose. Maybe the schools and cities at the same time is. But its just as add that it seemed to happen at the same time in other states as well?
Yes, normally it is first Saturday of the month at noon but today they had tests at 1:00pm
Dayton, Ohio here and yes there were sirens going off near the VA. Shortly after an Emergency alert test on the radio....
Auglaize County also had the sirens go off.
I haven’t heard anything in the South East
