So the dude is an aged hippy and was being a vaxhole this morning. And asked when the rest of us would get our shots. I said I wasn’t planning on it, and cited that is experimental and that moderna a is linked to Gates and his Malthusian views make me really untrusting of it.
His response?
“Ya gotta have more faith in the science man...”
I couldn’t help but chuckle.
(And yes, he’s an evangelical athiest)
There's no observed repeatable control for Darwinism so yes, anyone who believes in it is doing so based on faith.
Remind your evangelical atheist coworker about how science theory differs from science fact.
I find it funny.... Athiests replace God with Science as their religion...
Almost every vegetable you see in the supermarket was created through selective breeding. Those blueberries, when they were wild, were small and nowhere near as juicy. That kale and broccoli were originally part of the same plant, but have since been separated and made into different veggies.
Carrots were originally white. The Dutch cultivated them and were able to produce orange and purple varieties. The orange turned out the be the favorites, so you don't see the others anymore.
All breeds of dogs have been bred from various other breeds. A sheltie is part collie, border collie, sheepdog, and others. They were bred to have specific characteristics.
Obviously, the idea of selection (human) is possible. No reason to think that natural selection is not a real thing.
I was referring to macro evolution, not micro. I should've clarified.
There's zero observable repeatable science to macro primordial soupbowl evolution. Of course there is obvious and substantial evidence for micro evolution and survival of the fittest fact.
Just nothing to support/suggest a paramecium fucked an amoeba and that led to more complex life.
