Don't beat yourself up. You may have a point. I was thinking about the frozen bubble and the colored leaves inside. The leaves are colored because it's Fall. It could mean that we're approaching the end of the movie. It's Fall going into Winter, Winter being the end (of the DS).
Side bar, but isn’t that consistent with Kim Clement’s prophecy? He said something along the lines of politicians being humiliated in the spring and action by the fall.
