If they can pull it out, how is it not already refloating?
Seems to me they bring in a big Navy Ship, get some lines attached to the aft of the Ever Given, and pull it away from the shore and center of the canal. They need some power to pull it out. You can’t tell me someone’s Navy can’t fix this more quickly.
Only if the Captain has abandoned the vessel. That's why the Captain went down with the ship. He was paid to do so, so that the cargo could not be claimed by others.
The ship is unballasted now, fuel pumped out. I put a 99% chance the thing gets unstable & top heavy, capsizing the containers en-bulk into the canal. Then the real clisterphuq you will have

I wonder if that would fall under some Maritime salvage law. You get it, you keep it

What I have heard is that they are going to offload the fuel bunkers and pump bilges. It is not feasible to remove containers.
He can try. Do they have mobile cranes with the reach and tonnage capacity of the cranes at dock? But the current story is that the ship is free.
