You need the ratchet straps to "pre-tension" so there is no shock loading ;)

And I'm sure that the ratchet straps will be more than strong enough, as I am a fellow Redneck with a Ram truck, and have done some stupid, heavy shit with ratchet straps, so I can deem myself as a fully-certified ratchet strap professional.
