The authorities are trying to get you to take a vaccine that you distrust.
Broadly, either a) you’re being a bad citizen and too skeptical or b) they haven’t proven enough that the virus is dangerous enough or the vaccine is safe enough.
I’m a b).
It’s on them to convince you friend. Not you to feel guilty about being unconvinced.
I like how you paint a/b. To me, Option A is more about social pressure - c'mon! EVERYBODY is doing it! You don't want to be the ONLY one not doing it - you'll ruin it for everyone else!' Option B is the more logical and thoughtful approach. What I have a hard time reconciling is why so many people can't or won't see that.
You don't want to be the ONLY one not doing it - you'll ruin it for everyone else!'
This logic, applied to mask and vax, makes zero sense to me.
If your mask works, it works. It blocks viruses, or so you believe. You're safe. It doesn't matter whether I or anyone else wears it or not. Mission accomplished.
Knowing this, the powers that be invented the ridiculous, silly medical fiction that "Your mask only blocks FAST viruses moving in ONE direction (from you, even though you don't have the virus). SLOW viruses floating toward you? It can't do jack shit! Even if you wear three! Your fellow citizens are out to kill you if they're freeface, whether they have the virus or not! EVERYONE has to wear the muzzle to protect precious YOOOOUUU!!!"
If you don't have symptoms, YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH VIRUS TO BE CONTAGIOUS. THE WHOLE THING IS A HOAX.
If your vaccine works, it works. You're safe. It doesn't matter if I take it or anyone else does. If it did, it wouldn't be a vaccine at all.
Don’t feel bad about distrusting the vaccine.
Reconcile it this way:

Group think and social programming. It's a microcosm of the Stanley Milgram experiment in a sense.
