Evergreen is an important concept in Freemasonry, represented by an evergreen acacia sprig or tree. Once you see the acacia sprig, you'll notice the symbol everywhere - on flags and crests, wood and stone carvings, etc.
It represents immortality, or immortality of the soul. I don't know of potential other/hidden meanings, but there's this ancient Egyptian reference:
"It is believed that the acacia tree first became associated with immortality due to an Egyptian myth about Osiris. In the legend Osiris is tricked into a box that is thrown into the Nile. It eventually washed ashore near an acacia tree which rapidly grew around the box. The tree was turned into a column by a local king, which Isis was eventually given."

She used it for his falice. It was the only piece of Osiris she couldn't find. It's the basis behind the obelisk statues.
