Our sins are covered, granted. (And agreed entirely) We are declared righteous before we are sanctified, also granted. But Romans 6 describes why we don't continue in (habitual, intentional) sin after being redeemed by Jesus.
6 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? 2) (By no means!) Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? (Romans 6, 1 & 2)
