A lot of people don't understand the Marxist idea of "socialism" being a step just before "communism," and they don't understand that the word "communist" comes from "comune" which is a community-run society where there is NO GOVERNMENT at all.
The left-anarchists, also called anarcho-communists, understand this. But MOST "communists" and "socialists" do not.
They think socialism is like Sweden and Norway -- never mind that they rely on the USA for national defense, and Norway has a ton of oil to sell to the world from its little country. Most people also don't realize that anyone from those countries who makes any significant money will LEAVE and go somewhere else, where they can earn unlimited income without paying any taxes back home. They can always return later when they are in retirement mode.
Marx theorized that the working class would "rise up" against the capitalist class, take over their property, and institute socialism for the good of the people. To do this would require a big government apparatus to enforce it with violence (which would be necessary).
Then, the people would love their new society so much that the state would "wither away" because it would no longer me necessary. This would then be a stateless communal society called "communism."
Reality and history, however, have proven Marx wrong on all counts.
This is why Jesus Christ is the true anarcho-communist.
