Exactly -- it was a big huge scandal, costing a TON of money, and now somebody's head has to roll.
and naturally they are going to peg the little guy
Engine Room guy here. There is a possibility that it wasn’t the captain, a semi competent mechanic could local control a rudder via hydraulics on a lot of ships with a single print (or an hour walking down piping) and people attached to the ship probably know how as a precaution for failure of controlling stations.
When/if the timeline of events comes out we can find out how it happened, but we know who it was, so it doesn’t matter.
it drew a giant penis with their gps tracker before entering the canal. Is that even possible with the physical controls or was someone likely controlling this remotely?
Also, it would be a super easy system to peg hard port/stbd with full hydraulic pressure. Then just lock wire that shit so no one can stop what is coming in the next few seconds.
lol
We will just have to wait and see what happens. This could be just a rumor. Even if this is true why would the crew also be under any kind of arrest? What do they have to do with running the ship aground?
Maybe we will learn if there was something else on the ship (human trafficking) and that is why they are arrested. But even with that, I would question just "house arrest"
Yeah the captain runs everything
The Captain is still responsible. He's supposed to override the pilot if necessary.
The captain remains anonymous. Weird, right?
Its the Sun newspaper, its not meant to be read, its there just to look at the pictures.
Pay no attention to the Sun, they don't care what they print as long as its semi believable.
