He was commenting like crazy the night before he went awol here, loads of short comments on loads of posts. Problem was they were devolving into nonsensical gibberish, kind of like confused, substance-fueled poetry detached from reason. A couple commenters remarked that they thought he was a bot due to the volume and weird nature of his comments, said they were going to deport him.
It looked to me like he might have been sliding down a slippery slope of substance overload or even having a health issue. I don’t “know” SR at all (in that I haven’t exchanged ideas with him), but he always seemed like a good soul and I enjoyed reading his commentary in the past. I do hope if it was a health or even a substance issue that he gets himself straightened out and returns to join us.
FWIW that's exactly what it looked like to me, the alcohol thing - been there, done that, reeled it in. In fact, I saw that comment flood as it was happening and, trust me, I noticed it. It kind of why I asked about him here - thought what happened might have happened.?
Always struck me as a good soul too, but definitely had a little Bukowski to him, whether or not substances contributed. Wish him well, hope he's OK, and comes back stronger with the ban under his belt.
And if you're reading this Sir Reginald, didn't want to air out your business. Whatever happened, it's all good to me. ??
I’m glad you did bring this up. Thank you for doing so. Unfortunately, with the necessity and safety of being anonymous, we also have no way of checking on another community member in a case like this. Reading penisse’s comment, above, was a relief as I’ve been praying for SR since that night. His contributions are missed.
