Don't be too surprised. The terms liberal and conservative are foisted upon people, who are way more complex than their labels. Willy Nelson is just one example of both. Plenty of redneck hippies, and hippy rednecks. (Also the employees probably commute in, not the same folks who own the mansions in those parts.)
