No, I think you should take it even more seriously when he dehumanizes people to this degree. However, besides the covid cultists who sound genocidal against skeptics, the “new normal” being released (early?) is causing the California Trump supporters to move to Florida and Texas faster, while keeping the leftist COVID cultists in California instead of moving to Texas or Florida without any politics self awareness as to why these states are better.
