God commanded Israel to commit genocide against the Canaanites.

Every word of God will be fulfilled.

More importantly, Jesus fid not delete God's laws and punishment. He took it upon himself. All those he claims will be saved from sin. Those he does not will suffer for their own sins. That means the consequences of the law too.
