They are breaking down essential .. axiomatic? virtues if that can be understood. Things that are basic appreciations of the world. Things that some people have and some people do not based solely on the chaos of actual chance and wonder. They are taking these things - that one is supposed to simply notice and appreciate and warping them into some weaponizing word called priveledge. By implying it is a priveledge to be alive now you also imply that is a disadvantage to be born earlier and you imply this idea as a subtle effect because it is not necessarily true that "this is the best time to be alive."
It is a narrow, pseudofuckhead no logic, weaponized linguistic attack aimed to distort ones method of interpreting reality.
The argument against temporal priveledge is countered by understanding that everytime someone is alive is great time to be alive. I imagine this is thw line they are waiting for so they can get into slavery and the holocaust and then ask if that what was a good time to be alive. And one that doesn't adhere to relative morality and post modernism must say - yes. Every time to be alive is a good time to be alive. No matter what the situation or time period or place in some human societal structure is a good time to be alive. Life is good. All the time everytime. Do not yield on this fact. Even if particular people at particular times suffered it is a fallacy to believe they did not deserve life or your life is objectively better than theirs. Every life is good, every time was good or good enough or we wouldn't be here now.
This is some post modernism dumb bullshit. There is no priveledge or advantage to being alive today. We still have all the same problems we've always had. We have some technology advantages but the trade off is what? A lot of new bad shit. Too. Every time period had this.
Moral. Objectivity. Life is good. Life at every time period is good. Life that has to endure suffering and tribulation is good. Life in every form is always good. Do not yield.
You are 100% correct
I wasn't really upset too much by this tweet, as I used to think this myself re: temporal advantage. Still do; we have huge advantages in quality of life over our ancestors But, like you said so very well, it's missing the Forest for the trees. I hope Dr. Ortiz is "halfway" to this full realization. We all take different paths, mentally, to The Great Awakening.
