if statehood for DC is pushed through, how does that reconfigure the makeup of the house? does it push through the census results (which give more seats to the republicans in growing red states)? has control of the house become more of a strategic necessity than control of the senate that can move to change the rules with a simple majority? does this particular grasp for power on the part of the dems actually result in a shift of power that is not immediately obvious?

DC Statehood. Is DC part of the constitutional US right now? Or is it a corporate entity separate from the constitutional US?
What happens if it becomes part of the constitutional US if it has not been before? Would the military not be able to be involved if DC is not foreign-owned?
Yeah. Well you have to look at a couple of things.
It was never made to be a state. Virginia and Maryland both contributed an equal amount of their state. If you wanted to give them representation you would have to include them into the Virginian and Maryland governments and give the land back to the states. That was land taken by them sole for the propose of creating a capital that no single state could own.
The only real industry the territory has is the government. It would be hard to raise taxes in the territory.
The residents would have to pay not only federal taxes but they would have to pay state taxes. This will shoot up the cost of living exponentially. Living in that city is already expensive as fuck. Your tax base would move out of the city.
There is no state assembly in DC. There's the Federal Assembly but they don't actually have control of the city technically speaking. Think about how most states were brought into the union. Most state had a functioning state assembly by the time state hood was even considered. Either the state voted on state hood and sent it to Congress/The Federal Assembly voted to ok statehood or Congress would vote to add the state and the state itself had to vote on it in the states own assembly. This is because they would be taxed at multiple levels and the people would want a say in any new taxes levied against them.
Nancy would have to set up a whole state government and then that government would have to rubber stamp the statehood bill. There's no one elected by the populace in DC to give consent to statehood. Nancy is basically subjecting the whole state to taxation without representation. She's literally acting like the queen. I say she's a Queen Bitch.
the citizens/residents of DC do have constitutional rights like the rest of us, do they not?
Yes. This includes the right to representation. They currently only have House members in the FEDERAL assembly. They have no state assembly.
Then you would have one state ruling over another... didn't think that could happen. States are to be equal are they not?
Not like those wanting this care about laws and rules.
Hadn't considered that. Sounds plausible.
They get their own court and prison system. Not sure how it would play out but I would imaging that any deep state Marxist that are under investigation would become state citizens and find it easy to get away with their crimes.
i believe they already have some of that. they would be required to create a state constitution in all likelihood.
Unobvious effect of DC statehood- The tax payers will have to buy new flags to replace every American flag in use by our government at local, state, and federal levels. And the flags will probably all be made in China.
