With nearly 175M IPv4 addresses, I have to believe that this could be used to create an entirely new Internet that is interoperable with old tech. This could very well be the military's answer to the communist big tech problem and with this much traffic something is "moving".
Very good point. Quite possible. Man, that could help with a lot of current problems...
1I am tryibg to remember specifically where I heard that there will be a new free internet. Someone has got to have heard the same thing
Maybe Simon Parkes or one of his pals?
Simon Parkes is an idiot, claims he screwed a female alien. God, wake up. Most of these public figure patriots are just trying to gain fame from fake contacts and news. Sigh...
It might be the Odin Project?

i read something about a year ago about the guy who came up with the current internet, that he was coming up with a newer version. Cannot remember his name or the details, but had my sister look into possibly investing. Then lost track.
You mean it wasn't Al Gore??? LOL
Bill binney is who I'd call.
There was a free internet mesh thing going around for a long time
Look into Skywire/Skycoin, decentralized internet, and the creator is based! It's still being developed.
Someone over the last 3 or 4 years said there would be a parallel economy created by President Trump and a parallel internet. I don't know who it was but this makes me wonder if that's what those IPs are for.
Dan Bongino?
That would so great!
It's definitely enough IP addresses for a new internet that's not composed of a bunch of SHIT servers. 175 million IPv4 addresses more than serves all the needed infrastructural servers and people can still use DHCP and overlap to use the others. Remember, 175 million is over 1/2 of the population count in the US and it's going to be used for everyone, it's mainly going to be used to provide rock solid infrastructural services that then other people with existing IPv4 addressing will use to access. The key is to have a major block of IP addresses that these bastard demons on the left cannot terminate on people offering good services and new functionality.
Multiple decades. :)
Wouldn’t they create the new internet with IPv6? IPv4 has its limitations
It also has staying power.
IPv4 is just fine. The IPv6 drama is not as serious (or as limiting) as was originally stated. Most sysadmins and network engineers I know DISABLE IPv6 still at this point on systems they admin due to various issues. And then there's the privacy concern. Just look at any VPN service currently, basically IPv6 is no-man's land. We are a LONG LONG way from standardizing on IPv6 and having such a base of IPv4 is going to be critical for compatibility, longevity, and more.
