Foreign troops on US soil...isn't that a declaration of war? Not just for the US, but foreign troops on any country's soil is an act of war.
UN troops on our soil can legally be shot and killed by US citizens.
I'm not saying it is a conspiracy theory, but how would our military feel about foreign troops on US soil? Not to mention the general populace. I could see this working IF the population was disarmed, but even the Japanese were hesitant to invade the US in WW2. For one, we are not unarmed. Secondly, invasion and massive "policing" of the US is a logistical nightmare for an army. The US is vast, and a majority of it is not populated. I can see cities being policed, but what about a vast majority of the US? I don't see this being a good outcome for the UN.
Yup, there are a lot of pissed off folk who would come out of the woods and take pot shots at the blue helmets, at the very least. I think there would actually be organization of the people to fight the UN. At least I hope so.
Blue helmets are easy trophies. So much so, children will just throw them in the trash.
I can say one thing, America is not Nazi Germany. And I can promise you if they were ever successful in abolishing state and local police, which I don't think they have a chance, those guys wouldn't just go home and watch CNN. They would have pissed off even more gun toting patriots, alot. They are fucked either way, patriots are not going to let them take over this country any further.
But people have conscience and are unreliable, they will start using the robots as patrol officers in urban areas. Smaller groups of vetted brownshirts will respond to alerts via drones and surveillance systems. What possible reason is there for the advanced robots they have built?
