The Oscars will look more like a movie, Soderbergh has said. The show will be shot in 24 frames-per-second (as opposed to 30), appear more widescreen and the presenters — including Brad Pitt, Halle Berry, Reese Witherspoon, Harrison Ford, Rita Moreno and Zendaya — are considered “cast members.” The telecast’s first 90 seconds, Soderbergh has claimed, will “announce our intention immediately.” https://ktla.com/news/local-news/final-oscars-preparations-underway-before-awards-night-at-l-a-s-union-station/ And they are at the transit station?! Makes me think of "we are watching a movie"!

I just did a quick check-in, although I missed the opening. I cannot tell you how weird it is. And I recognized no one. It was set up so you can’t tell who is there. I’m not big on Hollywood anyway but in a regular year if I were to turn on the Oscars I would see a lot of familiar faces. Not this year!!
I haven't watched, but that seems to fit the other weirdness. I read about what they had planned and just wondered at. So odd.
Just turned it on and it is SO WEIRD. Strange background music... Harrison Ford sounds like he has 1 or both feet already in the grave, and I recognize NO ONE
Tyler Perry was great though
Right? And none of it makes a bit of sense! There's a pandemic so we're meeting in the most public of public places! It could only be stupider if they were also starting a trend of kissing the druggie homeless HepA population on the way in to prove their "tolerance".
Intriguing.... it will be interesting to see what kind of ratings they get though I personally have no interest in watching “stars” prance around a stage and pontificate.
Yes, I don't even know enough or watch enough about Hollywood to know if this is remarkable at the moment, but seems extra odd to me.
Hahahaha Also, this! https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2021/04/25/oscars-hollywood-erects-walls-to-keep-celebrities-safe-during-academy-awards/
Hahaha what? Who gives a fuck about the celebrities that they need a wall. WTF
These people only have a perceived voice if they get an audience.. I’m not going to give them any by watching
Agreed
Dead beats with money and nothing constructive to do. Gave up TVv12 years ago, have not missed a thing. Try it, you’ll like it and you will also have more of life.
I want watching, just reading about it. I mostly listen to podcasts and watch Christian stuff with my kids. TV doesn't have the same appeal, closer I get to Christ.
Didn't waste my time watching the Oscars.
