I assume that you mean affected because 'to effect' means 'bring about' or 'cause to happen'.
Spelling matters. Using the correct word matters. It's the way we communicate here because we (most of us) aren't friggin psychic.

Most people know what I meant. Those who don’t. It’s not worth my time to explain it to them.
I have enterprise level software to write. Not an English major.
And it won't be Fauci. Even though the UK is far less insular that the USA, nevertheless the UK has its own chief medical officer (or whatever he/she is called). Although many brits have heard Fauci, they probably don't recall his name and think he's just another Trump adviser. Many countries probably haven't heard of him at all.
