My cousin lost his wife to pain meds. ... she overdosed on Fetanayl, He believed she did it on purpose due to her constant back pain. (He was a pharmacist and told her how to handle the drug) Found her dead when he came home after she had taken too much. Unfortunately, so many people in pain will do that.
She may not have “chosen” death. Opiates just stop working. You have to keep upping dosages due to harsh tolerances to them. Seeking relief usually ends tragically, for many.
I am sorry to hear you lost someone too. I hope your cousin has been able to cope with his loss without feelings of guilt.
You don't know how true your words are regarding the constant pain that many of us live with daily. I have tried everything, but now I just offer it up to God's hands and try to continue to do what I can for my family. In some way, maybe it's my "penance" for past mistakes I've made. I've learned to take one day at a time, and always thank God for the blessings he has given me each day.
