Just watched the press conference. My take away is that this audit will identify problems such as mail in ballots were not folded, fake ballots were submitted, machines tallied fractional votes...BUT I don’t think actual numbers of how many votes for Trump and Biden will be made public. That’s not what they are looking for.
One additional critical category - incorrect manual adjudication of ballots. This is the motherlode.
I'm pretty sure they have to run a ballot through a machine to determine whether it was folded or not. Sure, you would normally see the crease but the argument could be made that they were pressed out by being stacked. I don't see any machines there. As an aside, this is day 4 and I've only seen one full pallet fully taken apart and boxes moved out onto the counting floor. That doesn't bode well for this being done in 30 or 40 days.
Their mandate is not to provide the "correct" vote total. That would put this effort in conflict with AZ election laws pertaining to the counting of the vote. Instead, they will provide a report on the various modes of error and fraud AND TALLIES of affected ballots. The impact on the election results will be inferred from these tallies, but an updated vote count will not be part of the report.
I think they are examining to see if fraud methods were used. But it doesn’t mean that they will publish who the bad ballot voted for. My old hope was to prove Trump won. I don’t think that will happen with this audit. My new hope is that the election will be called invalid and a new election held. Or who knows maybe the military is the only way. I’m just saying, and it’s just my opinion, that we aren’t going to be presented with anything like xx votes for Biden and xxxxx votes for Trump. We just get the consolation prize that maybe next election will have safe guards.
