Giving people the freedom of choice is the opposite of a close minded argument. You sound like an undercover commie that thinks the government should dictate our life choices.
i can’t believe people here are defending the use of cigarettes in the name of freedom. I’m not talking about guns or beef or oil or even pastic. I’m talking abiut fucking cigarettes. Go tell all those who lose rheir lives because of smoking or all those who lose their jaws or tongues or vocal chords that the lesson they learned is still gonna happen because we don’t wanna give up the freedom to kill ourselves.
This is a targeted ban because menthol is predominately used by smokers of the darker variety. This is sure to sit well amongst them, ya think? Maybe, if cigarettes and cigars are deemed to be so dangerous, maybe Joseph Stolen should administratively ban them altogether. I;m partly saying this sarcastically - the point is, what is next on their agenda?
I was talking to my friend just now and he brings up he doesnt believe in the arrest of people for smoking. And that’s not what I’m tryna get at. I’m not looking to arrest or punish anybody. So maybe this can be a change in position but still.
I’m not trtna out people in jail. I wanna eliminate the cigarette industry. The industry not the individual. If you wanna roll your own cigs and buy tobacco go for it. However i’m all for a plan to eliminate companies that profit off poisonous products and arent held legally liable for all the destruction they are still causing to peoples lives.
When you give an inch they take a mile. Thats the reason why freedom of choice is so important. Its their fault that they wanna smoke. But thats their decision. When you allow the government to make the choice your are giving up your rights. Look with COVID. We allowed them the mask mandate and social distancing and now they want even more restrictions. We are all well aware of how dangerous smoking is, but its the freedom of choice to kill yourself, not the government.
The government mandating masks and social distancing (which if youve seen my posts i’m 100% against always and forever) and also banning HCQ (im just adding) is a terrible analogy to use because those mandates were based on absolutely NO scientific data. And after a year with them it’s been found to have had an adverse reaction on the population. Unlike Cigarettes, which have study after study after study proving they have no health benefits.
Banning cigarettes is difference from banning alcohol too because alcohol, unlike cigarettes, not only doesnt have many bad effects if used in moderation, sometimes have health benefits like whiskey or wine. They’re used for celebratory purposes. There is no celebratory champagne version of a cigarette.

It's called a cigar.
