I’m so sick of the assertion that pricing people out of neighborhoods is discriminatory (and, of course, racist.) There are plenty of places I can’t afford to live and I certainly don’t feel my socioeconomic class is being discriminated against by the basic concept of supply and demand. It’s plenty easy to find a house you can afford. Of course, section 8 is a whole different problem and it’s ludicrous that anyone taking government housing (essentially stealing housing potential from others who have to subsidize their living) feel they have any right to complain or make demands. Crime and quality of life in section 8 housing isn’t due to the area or the housing itself, it’s that no one will ever actually appreciate or care for anything they had handed to them. If you buy a house, and have 30 yrs of potential earning tied up in that house, you do everything you can to take care of the house and keep your neighborhood safe.
You better believe it, I just bought a new house , the majority of the people buying new houses all around me are joggers. None of them have jobs and are home all day. How does that work?
UDSA home loan. No money down, only applies to rural areas. There are income requirements that may vary by state. You’ll need maybe $5k for the paperwork and fees to complete the process. Did it last year, 20 times the land and almost double the house size of the rental I was in for about $100 less per month.
Looking for a house, and while soon-to-be Mr. Michipede and I make a nice living, prices are just STUPID in the suburbs we’ve been looking at. I love the idea of a rural property.
The only downside is that its at least 15 minutes to a grocery store. I used to live across from a target and made it easy to run and grab forgotten ingredients.
Communists do not want comrades living in suburbs or in the country. You must live in cities they assign you to for the purpose of monitoring and controlling you.
They won't even allow those "living off the grid". In Europe they are stopping gypsies from living like nomads.

The suburbs already suck anyway. I have my eyes on more rural territories at this point.
