Mission complete! I live maybe 15 minutes from Portland, OR. Almost 1 hour in Safeway without a mask tonight. Not one word from anyone or any weird looks except from the shopping cart kid who thought he'd flex on me by asking, "do you have a mask?" I said, "nope!" and kept on. Saw 2 other dudes with no masks and they smiled when they saw me and from down the aisle shouted, “how’s it going, dude?!” I replied, “all good and you?” They said, “awesome!” and that was that but they were just as stoked to see me without a mask as I was to see them without theirs.
STOP WEARING THE MASKS! I’m typically a push over but I had a shit day and needed to book a win to close it out, so I made my win happen. If I can stop with the mask nonsense, you can too!
Hats off to ya.. and I mean that .. isn’t it sad though that we find ourselves in a time where something so rudimentary and obviously waaaaay within the rights of free men and women be celebrated? It’s like we’re living in a psychotic alternate reality !!
Thank you! & yes, I completely agree! It seems and feels insane that going into a store without a mask would be anything to get anxious over, let alone something to be proud of or celebrated, yet here we are. We’re truly living in clown world.
This is still America. The liberal nut jobs haven't destroyed that yet. Do not ever give into these types of people, fuck em, fuck em all. Let them wear their face diapers and cause potential damage to their body and health. Breath in that fresh air and enjoy it while the mindless sheep suck in their own old air over and over.
If they have a problem with you choosing to ditch the mask then they can kindly fuck off. I could say if they're so obsessed with masks to shove a mask up their ass but that'd be nasty and jail time.
I asked an obese clerk "This is still America isn't it???" she responded "this isn't about freedom, it's about safety".. jaw drop SMH time-this was in the middle of December and after being told to use the online service, I did not return and I used a delivery service that got 5% cash back, MUCH better than the coupons sent to me.. I will be emailing the HQ soon..
It used to actually matter if someone contacts corporate but now days I don't believe it would matter anymore if it's related to masks.
Many businesses seem content to lose customers over masks but you can do the most important thing possible which is to boycott that store indefinitely even if it causes inconvenience in your life.
My wife and I are only 2 people but we used to spend hours in Walmart and shopping malls looking around, partly just to get out of the house and walk around but also just window shopping so to speak.
When we would spend hours in these places we would end up spending hundreds of dollars but we have been to a mall once in the past 12 or so months and that was only for about 10 minutes.
A security guard wanted us to wear a mask. I could tell that he didn't like masks but he was doing what his bosses wanted him to do so we left and haven't been back since.
We buy our groceries from Publix now days because they don't care if you wear a mask or not. When we go to stores, it still appears that most people are wearing their face diapers but no one ever says anything to us.
Walmart stopped getting our business because they have someone at the door telling people to wear a mask or they can't go in. We will always have the choice of where to spend our money and that power can eventually cause us to be heard.
I've been withholding dollars simply because I don't have much to spare-I went on a trip to Ft. Collins August 24th last year to pick up a very timely powerball win, on my return, I filled up my gas tank-March 3rd 2021 I filled up again:) I drive to the bank a couple times a quarter so, no where else that I used to do business with for 15 to 20 years has gotten a dime since July last year..
We can only do so much in this fight but one thing we certainly can do is to keep our money and be picky where we spend it. You may be only one person but if millions of us change our spending habits then these big companies like Walmart can finally feel some pain.
If any company deserved to be put out of business, it would be Walmart. Walmart is notorious for moving to small cities and putting small businesses under. In big cities Walmart doesn't dominate, not even close because of all the competition but Walmart has done so much damage to small cities.
Many small cities have empty shopping centers because it's so hard for a business to directly compete against Walmart. We probably can't put Walmart under but we can certainly work towards leveling the playing field over the years by supporting smaller businesses more.
I’m at 82nd and Powell, i saw someone in the winco without a mask the other day, nobody said anything to her, i pulled mine down like a chin diaper after that. It’s difficult because this hell hole is full of virtue signalers that it’s next to impossible to go without a mask and not be harassed or trespassed from the store. Id be down to meet up with some people to go shopping together, strength in numbers fren.
Ayyyyyyy! Howdy, neighbor!!! I dig the no mask shopping meet up idea! I’ve seen a couple videos of other groups doing exactly this and would like to participate or even organize one. If I don’t see anything in the near future the next time I need groceries I may make a post a few days in advance for a meet up.
Yeah that would be a good idea, let me know!
i live in southeast Houston. i have been maskless for a while. i go to grocery store every weekend and have been observing. even without the mandate fools are still wearing these face diapers...about a month ago i'd say it was still 5:1 in favor of masks....i went yesterday and would say its now about 3:1 still in favor of masks but ppl are definititely waking up in this aspect. i will confirm its a great feeling when you lock eyes with a fellow non masker....they ALWAYS want to talk and just socialize without a fucking mask. i love it and its quite refreshing seeing ppl's beautiful faces again....
That was honestly the best part of the experience, seeing the two dudes without their masks. We were all equally stoked, like you could see the expression of, “oh hell yea!” on their faces. I’m sure they could see it on mine! ?
And then everybody clapped.
? my story does have that ring to it but where I live it’s liberal idiots everywhere. I thought for sure people would at least give me dirty looks.
You are an inspiration.
Awesome!! Thank you!! ??
You got your win because you went for the win. Imagine that! Thanks for sharing and I hope today is better.
I live in blue Illinois and just had this interaction yesterday: "I got into a tiff with the manager lady at the Casey’s in Central Illinois – mind you, I saw this SAME lady last Sunday and she didn’t make a peep – but I stopped wearing my mask in small places like that – I’m just over it – BUT, she caught me this time and told me I had to wear a mask – I told her no, and then I asked her if she wanted me to leave – she said no, BUT, kept trying to hand me a mask. I asked her WHY Texas and Florida are almost 100% open with no mask mandate and their cases are FALLING – AND I told her about covid units CLOSING due to lack of patients – and guess what she told me (NOTHING ABOUT THE VIRUS) – she just said we have a different “governor” and huffed and said she was done talking about it… I yelled back – YES – that’s the issue – the fat boy is keeping us locked down and wearing masks for control – stupid lady!" So, it's really NOT about the virus - it's all about control!
When that’s the best answer they can come up with its mind bending they can’t see it has nothing to do with the virus.
EXACTLY!!! And she stopped the entire conversation after that!
Congrats! I take pleasure in my wawa lunch breaks and grocery shopping in the evening without a mask! Here, have an updoot.
Thanks! There’s a mom and pop mini mart by my house that I never have worn a mask into but it’s my neighborhood store where everyone in the neighborhood knows the owners and their family. Everywhere else I’ve been playing along with the mask BS. It’s stupid but I actually felt proud of myself for growing a pair tonight.
I’m proud of you too. Hopefully the courage will be contagious.
Thanks!
