The below passage in Matthew is a teaching that is overlooked or incorrectly taught by many who prefer to go along to get along. Many church leadership types eschew teaching this properly. They instead elevate Romans 13 in a vacuum of other Bible teaching to be the final and only word on how God wants us to conduct ourselves in this world. They in fact push the church to lose its flavor. Laodicea.

Matthew 5:13-14

13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

A few simple steps is to begin attending school board and county clerk/election meetings. Then get plugged in, oppose what is being done wrong. Get to know who these faceless people that are scooping up our rights as work our tales off or we stick our noses in a device.

You are so wrong. To say that God is in charge isn't a call for complacency. It is a call to get on His side. We do what we can do, and when we have done all we can do, we stand firm and wait for Him to do what we cannot do in our human strength. Get some faith.
