Having lived in SE Asia for a few years and returning to the USA late last year, I can confidently tell you that the deaths caused by slamming on the economic brakes has killed more people than COVID-19 has even with the inflated numbers left in.
While many Americans enjoyed a huge increase in EBT and Unemployment benifits, along with the stimulus money, most citizens of poor countries got little aid.
The amount of aid and the percentage of people being excluded, ensured many people have literaly starved to death. In poor countries they have fewer animals of any sort in populated areas because they were already consumed years or even decades ago.
Over 7 years of visiting then 3 years of living in the Philippines I saw no one fishing from the shore of any lake, nor river, nor ocean. The pump boats never have a big haul.
Same thing with hunting. Anything besides feral dogs and cats are hard to find. Here in the USA there are still animals that survive in large numbers because being hit by a car is less devastating on the population than hungry bellies.
listened to a podcast about the huge inflation coming, fewer goods to buy, fewer foods to buy and the elites will see to it that we don't have any meat....wildgame is plentiful NOW but it won't be as people go looking for sources of protein....
his advice was to grow gardens, hunt, fish when you can, find a job that you can do to support yourself and others and fill a need eg...a lumber mill, welding shop, clothes making, etc....we will need to depend on US....
When that shit hits the fan here, look out. Most people have no more than a couple of days supplies on hand - especially in the cities. As far as hunting and fishing - that will be made illegal - hunting the King's game sort of thing. In the end, it will not do much good. Hungry people will decimate wild game regardless of whether they run the risk of getting caught or not. As far as gardens, unless you plan on posting a 24hour guard, it will be stolen. I have already had that happen and we were not living under those hellish conditions.
What worries me is people from the cities banning together in gangs that spread outside of the cities to find food. How can one or two people protect their home against marauding gangs of people. Let's just pray they don't have the gas to get very far.
All I know, is it is going to get a whole lot uglier before it gets better. Buckle up - this nightmare is coming to a city and town near you.
2A regarding marauders.
Agreed
Reads like an episode from The Walking Dead.
People watch way too much TV.
It's fear porn.
Yes, one more way to cull the herd.
Yikes. I think you might be right but I sure hope it doesn't get this bad before it gets better. Seems like this could sneak up on us rather quick.
When it hits, and I am not saying it will, it will catch people off guard. Those that have not prepared will have no time or ability to do anything about it.
The problem is that the majority of those born here in the US, and the rest of the developed Western World, do not remember a real time of crisis. Only those from other places and the very old remember the struggles and how far people are willing to go when their survival depends upon it. We have grown fat, complacent, and lazy here. With the exception of the Great Depression, we have never really been challenged in the last 150 years or so. And when you look at the course of human history, whether by design or occurring organically, man has always been challenged and those challenges can be ugly. Times of peace and prosperity are time sensitive and sporadic - and I am afraid we may be at the end of ours.
My mother's family escaped Russia before the Communists took over and the place was ravaged by two world wars, the Revolution, and the Communist regime. Mainland Europe was also destroyed less than a century ago. Because these horrors have been kept from our shores does not mean that we are immune to them. We have had the divine protection of God - but that protection is waning. This nation needs to heap the heavenly warnings and repent. But since I do not see that occurring, this nation will suffer the wrath for its injustices. It is unfortunate that we always seem to be forced to our knees in order to see the error of our ways. God bless you and stay safe.
Learn to forage. Every part of the pine tree is edible. Dandelion's are a super food. Plantain taste like shit but it is everywhee.
Hey, it is amazing how some foods we would never touch before start to taste really good when you're hungry enough.
I keep trying to tell our 9 year old this too.
It doesn't sound like you've read Q too much... I don't think civil war is the plan
As far as Q is concerned... trust the plan... which is whatever the reader decides. The plan has never been explicitly stated - the perfect plausible deniability. Until there are dramatic changes that steer this ship in another direction, I must prepare for what may be coming. To not prepare is to be stupid. We know the storm is coming by learning to read the signs around us. Even the animals know how to read those signs. I pray I am wrong and I will gladly accept the criticism of hearing I told you so. But until that day comes, I must prepare for the worst. There is an old Arabic proverb that states, Trust in God - but tie up your camel.
Already did where I live. Summer of love and all that.
I have family that are moving out of the Seattle area. A couple of old hippies that have had enough. Go figure.
We're right behind them. I hope a multi generational immigrant tribe buys our home ?
Good comment OldSoul, after being abroad I can certainly see what you say about how fast the wildlife can dissapear.
