Trinity Alps Fren?? Weaverville my second home, started going up there as a 4yo in ‘68. Sad about Weaverville becoming a pot and meth head town when it used to be a true old western town. Stuart’s Fork trailhead up to Emerald lake and beyond, God’s country!
You know it better than I do. It is sad to hear it's gone to pot. It's always been a pet peeve of mine hearing Americans abroad who seem to denigrate or more commonly just ignore all the wonders of America. I mean, other places are wonderful and should be celebrated, but I love being surprised by the beauty of the Ozarks, the Smokies, the Southwest deserts, buttes and hidden valleys, and the great woods of the Northwest, from Big Sur to Seattle. Every place I go has its own marvels. I never get tired of coastal redwoods or the enormous sequoias, and yet I've met plenty of people that get poetic about foreign countries who barely know their own.
