It's not a knock on old people, I'm 42 so eventually I'll be old. We see a pattern of people staying in congress, senate, supreme court until they literally die and that is literally. People shouldn't be allowed to stay in those types of positions in government until the day they die.
It can be argued that president of the USA is the most powerful person on the planet so wouldn't it be good to have presidents that are not considered senior citizens? It's just a simple fact in life that everything in the body wears down as we age and someone in their 70s will not typically be as capable as someone in their 50s or 60s.
There are instances where young people are worse off but that's not very common. Typically people are thinking about and planning retirement from work by time they reach 70 and often even before 70.

America has a problem with aging as it is. You don't need more social pressure.
