What the fuck is the U.S. Coast Guard doing in the Middle East? Navy, I understand, but the friggen coast guard? A little far out from their area of operations aren’t they?

The US Coast Guard operates world wide my friend. The Coast Guard and its predecessor the Revenue Cutter Service have been involved with every major conflict this country has been in.
