Losing the sense of taste on day 3 is a bit weird, but it feels no worse than a cold.

Haven't had a cold or flu in years. But I remember getting a cold around Thanksgiving or Christmas and I would lose my sense of taste for 3 days. It used to so annoy me - missing out on one of the best meals of the year.
