Well, first, a sudden pole shift isn't survivable for a lot of folks, depending on where you live and what moves. To the central question, there are a lot of reports and various theories about Antarctica. Some of the more interesting you can watch if you search for videos from Linda Moulton Howe, UFO researcher.
