I believe Al Gore started the Anti-Science science thing with his "the science is settled" bullshit. It opened the door to people who fetishize "science" to where they don't give a flat fuck about what science actually is, but on neat shit scientists do and how it just lets them run riot over anyone who objects to what they're pushing. Its an easy namecall: "YOUR ANTISCIENCE!!" and then they can just repeat that until you either leave in disgust or punch them.
