Grew up in small town. The dump was our favorite playground. Just up from the dump was the cemetery. The cemetery had a hand pump and there was always a rusty can of water to prime it with. Water was always cool, and tasted great. Wasn't till I got much older that I realized the pump was on probably a very shallow well, and I had probably been drinking a trace of my kin folk the whole time lol.
