I remember back then on T_D there was some Plane Fag looking at the air traffic over LV during that shooting and:

1. A plane turned into a helicopter. Or a helicopter turned into a plane (I fergit). Meaning the Call Sign suddenly shifted. Only a Spook or a serious hacker could make that happen.
2. There were like eight aircraft flying in what looked like an attack formation of helicopters, moving in to LV airspace East to West on the South side of the city, and then traveling straight up the Strip's direction, like one or two blocks West of the Strip (and pausing in the middle at the Four Seasons/Mandalay Bay). That looked like an attack squad of helicopters, to my eye.

OK, I've said my tinfoil hat stuff, here. Cuz all I have is my memory of it: I can at this time offer no proof.

But that is what I was seeing, on T_D.

And if that is true, there is a lot of 'splainin' somebody has to do.
