So, it’s finally happened... my 100% remote company was just told that, some day in July, we would all be required to come in, at the same time, one day a week.
And now co-workers are asking everyone on Slack about who has been vaccinated and making thinly veiled sarcastic jokes about how they’ll ask everyone to show their papers.
I actually had to remind one of them that he was anti-vaccine back in December and January, before he suddenly flipped (but I’m sure he’s very smart and did not base his opinion solely on what CNN says at any given moment).
Boss hasn’t mandated the vaccine yet, but it’s coming.
I don’t normally post, but I need moral support! The fight has finally come to my door, and now I either need to just quit real soon and find something else, or prepare for how I stand my ground!
I looked this up and it says employers do in fact have the right to have medical info like vaxxes and can ask. I have to do all kinds of things for my med insurance, and verifying well check ups and vaxxes are under an employers right to ask. I haven't been required to get it yet, but they have asked.
I had to retake a vaccine as an adult to get back into graduate school.
