Haven't watched the big network news for over a year now, but just tuned in to local news for tomorrow's weather.
What I got was a bleating lecture on how my home state, Tennessee, is "attacking" (their words) the LGBTQ community.
How is my state attacking LGBTQ people? We passed laws that prevent trans people from playing sports on teams they don't belong in, require schools to give parents 60 days notice if they plan to teach about LGBTQ topics, and other common sense laws.
The worst statement I heard was, "Trans women ARE women, trans men ARE men..." and that's when I turned them off.
The TV station in question is WBIR, Channel 10, in Knoxville. I can get weather from the Weather Channel and I don't need WBIR's stupid leftist sermonizing. Begone, you children of Satan, you're not welcome in my home anymore.
I’m saying this with love, pede, not condemnation, but you can get your weather from a smartphone with as much or more accuracy than either “news” or TWC. If you’re paying for cable or satellite (it’s been so long since I’ve had cable but from what I recall cable was the only way to get the weather channel), you’re supporting the bad guys.
Btw, I love Knoxville. And Tennessee. Kelsea Ballerini’s “half of my hometown” is a great song.

My best friend is an anchor on local news. She hates every minute of it, because she is based. She wants to quit, but has lots of kids and is divorced. She is stuck. She is hoping all of the staff, who were vaccinated, will reach their demise, and she will be the only one left, as the only unvaccinated person there.
Good for you! I don't watch TV at all anymore or commercials just old shows... If I even walk by an active television and here the ”programming” they're spewing, it gets my blood boiling!
I get weather from my apps. Local weather personalities have the best jobs where they can be wrong 80% of the time and still able to keep it.
Local news here is still about covid/mask fear porn. Shut it off 2 years ago as well as pay tv.
Fellow Tennessean here. My son came home from school today and said they had to take a long COVID survey asking if they’d be vaxxed and if not why. He’s 13. He’s also told me about kids not being allowed to wear Trump masks but somehow, Biden has made it on to many of the schools yearbook pages !! Sickening that I have to deprogram my son when he comes home from school. And that they’re wasting educational time doing marketing research for free on our children so they better know how to pressure them into getting sterilized next year.
I havnt had an antenna plugged into my TV for at least 5 years, Its literally only used to play video games occasionally and as background noise for the dog when I'm not home.
Knoxville is a blue enemy held territory, but it's surrounded by all red Knox County. It's a good place to live.
Ever find it funny how the local news stations always open up with a “the one you trust” or “facts you can rely on” type of BS? It’s been programming us to believe their boldface lies for as long as I’ve been alive. Never again.
Haven't watched for over a year. The last straw was the local news saying that 12 year olds were nazi's. The camera man asked the boys to wave hello to their mom's. He took the photo and claimed that they were praising Hitler. It was disgusting, I was screaming at the tv like a madman. Our local news is a joke, and very dangerous at the same time.
WBIR was my channel of choice for local news up until Trump came along and I woke up to fake news and their agenda. Coincidentally, the story that made me quit tuning in was some LGBTQXYZ stuff. I'm pretty sure I emailed them about it and got a snarky reply. Edit: I went back and checked my emails. I turned them off in 2012!!! It was over their biased coverage of Chick-fil-A and same sex marriage. Back before chik-fil-a CEO was shining BLM shoes.

Sounds like a conspiracy theory, if someone ever says this around you folks it’s irresponsible to not demand proof of this ‘theory’.
Additionally, when I hear people say that gender is “assigned” at birth, I always correct them and say no gender is observed at birth.
A more precise statement would be that gender (or sex) is determined at conception....unless you want to get into a more theological discussion and say that gender (sex) is determined by God long before conception.
That’s true too, I was referring to how they claim that somehow a doctor is oppressing them by writing down the sex they see at birth by claiming they were instead “assigned a gender” by the doctor.
Ah...how silly is that? We need a serious purge in America.
