Junk food is addicting. Our brains cannot handle the excess number of dopamine hits from concentrated salt, sugar, and oil. Possibly the reason junk is preferred over genuine health promoting real food.
This is true and I've been joking about it in my household as there are some chips that once you eat them, you can't stop. I have joked about there being heroin in them because they are so tasty you don't want to put down the bag. The more I joke, the more I think, damn there must be something in them that makes them so irresistible beyond the salt, fat and taste.

I think a good friend of mine could snort hot cheetos if he was banned from ingesting them.
It's the sodium glutamate flavor enhancer. It's an excitotoxin that kills neurons by overstimulating them, great stuff.

That explains one of my co-workers. lmao
Read Salt, Sugar, Fat by Michael Moss. It's about how food companies manipulate food to be addicting.
Sugar has been found to be more addictive than cocaine.

Works with Heroin, too! Just use in moderation.
