Wasn’t Edison the guy who ruined, or was Tesla’s competitor? Edison wanted DC but Tesla’s AC won-out. (More efficient, less heating not to mention distance/resistance limitations).
Yeah edison was the guy who tried to ruin tesla, he even electrocuted animals with AC to show how "deadly" it was and also did the same with the electric chair which ended up taking 8mins to kill the guy
The generator was charged with 1,000 volts and the current was passed through Kemmler's body for 17 seconds. He was unconscious, but still breathing. The current was turned on again at 2,000 volts. Kemmler's skin began bleeding, part of his body was seen to be singed and a horrible smell spread through the death chamber. The New York Times reported that 'the stench was unbearable'. The procedure had taken about eight minutes.
I like that there's a Bob's Burgers episode specifically about the elephant incident. It's innocent enough that people might be inclined to look it up and then they drop right on down the rabbit hole. I don't think that was the intention of the writers. But it's still funny to me.
Exactly ?? I designed some systems for military and it was challenging but enjoyed knowing my applied knowledge kept our troops safe. I used to marvel at Tesla’s brilliance and still do.

New tech uses DC over long range. Really depends on many factors now.
