Exactly. I see too many people on these boards that have an unrealistic conception of how to navigate in this world (e.g. people immediately dismissing Pompeo because of his CIA work). There are good people working within seriously compromised institutions. That goes for the FBI, the CIA, the IRS, the US Military.
We cannot escape from existing in a Fallen world. We have to make the best of it.
I see too many people have a black & white approach to everything as if this were a western. Pompeo was funded by the Koch brothers for example, that's worth looking into. Or this for example:
We denounce RINOs and Biden for the same kind of thing. Nobody should get a pass.
Good point. I should point out that I actually do, as it were, keep a watchful eye on Pompeo. But I don't dismiss his statements out of hand because of his past work with the CIA.
For me, this is even more the case with Steve Pieczenik. He likely has an ulterior motive that he is not sharing with us, but that doesn't mean he doesn't provide us useful information here and there.
And of course, Trump himself. I think Trump has been the best president of my lifetime, but I can't help but cringe at how unapologetically pro-Zionist he is. At this point, whether some like it or not, Israel is our ally. I concede this point. But America First should mean just that: America First. Not America First (and "oh btw Israel too").
But as you say, we are not in a Western with black and white good guys and bad guys.
Yes exactly. If you do the black & white thing then you get sucked into cognitive dissonance too easily. Like this board has taken FAR too long to rally against the pro-vaccine agenda of Trump, and even then it's timidly, with generating some excuse like it's the only way out of the great reset... (when it is, in fact, always planned to be PART of the great reset)
Also noteworthy is Rand Paul voted against Pompeo's nomination.
Interesting. I didn’t realize that Rand Paul voted against Pompeo’s nomination.
Well put.
