If someone has ever gone for jury duty, they might be familiar with the term "Jury Nullification." It's when, as a juror, you believe the defendant is guilty according to the facts of the case, but that the law the person broke is unjust or corrupt, so you refuse to convict. Judges and lawyers aren't required to inform potential jurors about Jury Nullification, so a lot of people don't know. If you ask about it during jury selection, you'll usually get dismissed. ?
Exactly. They want jurors who "just do their job" according to the "law" (per jury instructions greed upon by both sides that outline the law applicable to the case) rather than jurors who actually see to it that JUSTICE is served.
