Patriot Confession (me): I have generalized anxiety. You shouldn't have random anxiety when things are otherwise fine. I don't let it define me though. The Rx's have unwanted side effects so I've moved off of them and learned to deal with it other ways. I stay busy at work. Get some nature/hiking/hobbies to keep myself from worrying so much. And I reward myself with a glass of scotch after a hard day. The hard days are coming less and less. The only debt I have is my house, and I drive a "beater" car because I don't like auto loans. I waste a little bit of my money on things I like, such as grilling / smoking, photography, whiskey, and the occasional video game that I can enjoy with my kids. I have a temper that I've worked to control all my life, and I'm much better at keeping my cool than I was 30, 20, 10, or even 5 years ago. I'm not in the best shape and could use more exercise, but I don't eat junk food and practice moderation in my vices. I'm not an "idea guy" so I don't know how to fix the country, other than I know it starts with fixing yourself and the things you can fix in your sphere of influence. I'm not religious but I have great respect for those who are. They say you should "get right with god", so I'm working to "get right" with the principles I know to be good and correct, and help make my home, work, and community a better place.
Works are just that, works. Stop beating around the bush and go find the peace you truly desire. It’s only in one place - Jesus. Once there you will know it’s what you’ve been missing. Peace be with you brother.
