If they get close they can... had a guy put a rare earth magnet in my drawer at my last job because I had a drive full of work orders, pictures, and videos showing how bad he was. He was immune from trouble so I had to gather a lot of stuff to get him out
Just wrap your storage in a few layers of aluminum foil.
Grab a magnet, wrap it in foil, go test this idea! Let us know.
Copper works better.
Multiple copies on different media in different locations. Remember burning cds/dvds? Immune to magnets.
Not to microwaves.
Well... Yeah. But if the guy is willing to just take things out of the drawer and directly destroy them the solution will have to be something other than different media.
